I grew up in the Gulf Coast of Texas, a fifth generation Galvestonion. Artistic talent runs in my family. My great-great grandfather designed and built the woodwork in Galveston's Bishop's Palace - on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Two of my talented aunts sparked my passion for art before I started kindergarten.
My art education began with private lessons at a very young age then formal education at Alvin Junior College, University of Houston and Richland College, Dallas. Although I have a degree in Fine Art, I continued studying on my own.
My professional career days began with mankind's once in a lifetime experience at Houston NASA Apollo. For eight years I worked on the mission to put our men on the moon so we were dedicated and focused on our work. The next evolution was into electrical design engineering at Fluor Engineers where I designed and drew plans for refineries in Saudi Arabia, Iran, North Sea and many more places. I also worked at Texas Instruments in Dallas where the semiconductors were created. That may not sound very artistic but with my "spatial" talent I was laying out blueprints on the computer. After eight more years and major layoffs I had a chance to enter the beauty business which was closer to my artistic passion. I became an aesthetician and later an instructor. While living in Boulder, Colorado I was Director of Aesthetics for the state, had my own beauty business and was champion make-up artist for the region the two years I lived there. In Dallas I worked in the Estee Lauder Spa at Neiman Marcus and while living in Bastrop, TX I worked at the Hyatt Regency Resort Spa as an aesthetician.
Since art has been my lifelong passion I always wanted to be a full-time artist. My dream has finally come true in 2013. My website encompasses my life works that I have been able to document with my Iphone. Please enjoy my art as much as I have.
